SEO Content Marketing Strategy

Internet marketing is one of the fastest growing forms of advertising used by businesses all over the world. Internet marketing can be defined as the method of promoting a brand or company over the internet with the use of various tools which help drive qualified traffic, prospective leads, and increased sales to the business. Internet marketing also known as e-marketing, online marketing, web marketing, online advertising, is a broad term that encompasses many different methods of advertising over the internet. It is an integral part of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Affiliate Marketing.

Search Engine Optimization is a form of internet marketing that uses the power of search engines such as Google, Yahoo, and Bing to improve websites by improving their rankings in search results. The major components of SEO include quality content, website competitiveness, and link building. SEO requires long-term planning and patience, as it can take months or years to see results. There are three major types of SEO; Basic SEO, Professional SEO, and tier 1 SEO.

In simple terms, quality content that is informative and useful to the reader, is what search engine optimization works on. Content such as news, reviews, and how-to articles are valuable to readers because these provide the reader with new information which they may not have previously had. Website competitiveness is measured by the number and quality of links that point to the website. Link building is done through inbound linking, which includes blogs, directories, web 2.0 properties, and social media sites.

Search Engine Optimization or SEO works best when implemented by using content marketing. Content marketing can be broken down into three strategies to better understand how it applies to your business. These are blog posts, articles, and press releases. A recent article on the Search Engine Optimization Association’s website described content marketing as, “the practice of providing relevant and valuable information about your company through social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter.” In other words, the goal of content marketing in SEO is to achieve higher search engine results for a website by creating social buzz around it. The second strategy of SEO is called Pay Per Click (PPC). With pay per click, advertisers pay the host site only when a visitor conducts a search for a product or service that is advertised. The host site will display a link at the top of the search results for a certain keyword or phrase. Every time someone clicks on this link, the advertiser will pay the host site for a fee based on the number of clicks. Although there are no guarantees of success, PPC advertising can bring traffic to a website, which can lead to higher search engine results and more revenue from advertisers.

The final strategy is called organic search engine optimization (organic SEO). This strategy uses natural and unpaid search results to boost a website’s page rank. Organic SEO relies on long-tailed keywords that are less competitively bid on. Keywords are entered into an online database to find more relevant websites. Organic SEO also does not limit its attention to only one or two key phrases. Instead, it searches for a variety of phrases that are relevant to a website’s theme and focus.

As you may have guessed, each of these strategies has their own benefits and limitations. When you are looking for an internet marketing company, ask them about their portfolio and their methods for using each of these strategies. A good SEO company should be able to build a portfolio that shows a consistent use of all three strategies.

SEO isn’t just a great example of an internet marketing strategy. It is also a great example of a great content marketing strategy. Content marketing can help you achieve organic growth by using the power of content to connect with people who are interested in what you have to offer. If you want your site to do better than it currently does, give it a second look. There are always new ways to get people to your site.
